Physiotherapist/ Director
Sharon Kearney
Sharon is one of the directors of Performance Physio along with partner Kevin. Sharon is the lead High Performance physiotherapist for Netball New Zealand and consultant for the injury prevention program Netball Smart.
Sharon has extensive experience in sports physiotherapy rehab and ACL rehab.
She has limited availability.

Kevin Dysart
Kevin is one of the directors of Performance Physio with partner Sharon. Kevin runs our clinic in Akaroa and is a local identity in the community.
Kev's based in Akaroa on Tuesdays and Fridays, as well as in our Christchurch clinic on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, see Kev in either one of our locations!

Ben Ardagh
Ben works in elite sport as the lead physiotherapist for Hocky New Zealand and with our Olympic athletes at HPSNZ.
He has a special interest in shoulders, providing second opinions and consults at our Christchurch clinic.

Physiotherapist
Louise Thayer
Louise graduated in 2009 from the University of Otago. She moved to Christchurch in 2013, after working in Dunedin and spending time in both Europe and the United Kingdom.
She has worked with many sports over the years; including Netball, Fistball and more recently with Canterbury and New Zelanad Cricket. Outside of the clinic, Louise has played netball at the elite level having played five years in the ANZ Championships. She recently turned her hand to a new sport, Fistball playing for the New Zealand Women’s team.
Louise is passionate about injury prevention, building resilient athletes and enhancing performance to get people back to their best.

Physiotherapist
Kylie Cox
Kylie has post graduate qualifications in Sports Medicine and Sport Science.
Her specialist areas is the female athlete, adolescent and children and the overall health and well-being of athletes in sport.
Kylie works with the Mainland National Netball League team and the New Zealand Secondary School Netball team.
She is available Tuesdays and Fridays.

Physiotherapist
Benedict Yanzick
Benedict graduated from the University of Otago with degrees in both Physiotherapy and Physiology, which gives him a strong understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and performs under load.
Outside the clinic, hes’s happiest in the outdoors — trail running, hiking, free diving, or training. He's competed in triathlon for six years and especially enjoyed the Half Ironman distance, so he understands the commitment (and occasional niggles) that come with endurance sport.
Benedict enjoys treating all musculoskeletal injuries, whether you’re dealing with a recent strain, a stubborn overuse issue, or working back from surgery. He has a particular interest in runners and multisport athletes, helping them build resilience, manage training loads, and get back to doing what they love.
His approach is practical, evidence-based, and tailored to your goals.

Physiotherapist
Jo Bayliss
Jo has experience working with elite athletes and recreational athletes old and young. Jo has a particular interest in tennis players and golfers having worked with many over the years to enhance
performance or rehabilitate from injury.
Having gained certification in Clinical Pilates through Dance Medicine Australia in 2004, Jo has rehabilitated clients and instructed both mat and reformer classes ever since.
Jo is passionate about exercise based rehabilitation, muscle balance, functional movement analysis, manual therapy and has a special interest in the lower back and spine.

Physiotherapist
Sarah Abbott
Sarah graduated from the University of Otago in 2001 and spent 11 years working in Private Practice, including time at Performance Physio. In 2012 she moved to Singapore, returning to Christchurch at the end of 2019.
Sarah works with all musculoskeletal conditions and with all ages. She has a special interest in postural analysis and the assessment of movement patterns, with the aim of looking at why an injury may have occurred and factors that will increase the risk of injury recurrence.
Sarah loves integrating Pilates into her treatment regime and is also a Bradcliff Breathing Practitioner.

Kim Ridl
Kim has over ten years experience working in South Africa, the UK and New Zealand. Kim works closely with residents at Ngaio Marsh and Diana Issac rest homes.

Neuromuscular/ Massage Therapist
Caryl Evans
Caryl works closely with our physios and offers appointments ranging from 30 to 60 minutes. Each treatment is tailored to meet the individuals needs.
Caryl trained at the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine, where she later spent more than 8 years as a Tutor and Clinical Supervisor.
She loves to work with people of all ages and all conditions with the intention or improving overall quality of life. Caryl has a special interest in supporting those who suffer from headaches, migraines, jaw pain and jaw dysfunction.
